Ralph Chandler Obituary

Ralph R. (Dick) Chandler, 62, of Meadows of Dan, Va., died on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va. Born on February 21, 1947, in Buckhannon, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ralph S. Chandler and Cozbi A. Sayre Chandler. He formerly owned and operated a retail store and was employed at Chateau Morrisette, of Meadows of Dan, Va. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, and WV Wildlife Federation and wrote a syndicated column entitled WV Fish and Game. He was a graduate of WV Wesleyan College. Mr. Chandler was a veteran of the United States Navy. He is survived by two sons, Eric Chandler and wife, Ursula, of Winchester, Va., and Greg Chandler and wife, Kate, of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Amy Sharpe and husband, Patrick, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Jackson, Lucy and Gus Sharpe, and Owen and Izak Chandler; two brothers, Donald Chandler, of Inwood, W.Va., and Danny Chandler, of Bridgeport, W.Va.; three sisters, Helen Alexander, of St. Simons Island, Ga., Judy Hall and Kathy St.Clair; and his former wife, Janet Chandler, all of Buckhannon, W.Va.
