Harold Irwin Obituary

Harold Windal (Hal) Irwin, 81, of Christiansburg, Va., died Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the Kroontje Health Care Center. He was born in Sparta, N.C., on April 8, 1928, to the late Troy Kilby and Eula Fender Irwin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Irwin; and a brother, Wallace Irwin. He is survived by his daughter and son-inlaw, Jo I. and Jere L. Johnson, Christiansburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Kris and Patty Irwin, Monroe, Va.; two grandchildren, Troy Irwin and wife, Crystal, and their children, Brenna, Emma, and Jacob, Laura I. Harris and husband, Matthew, and their daughter, Kaylee. Per Mr. Irwin's request, his body has been donated to science and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 5014, Roanoke, Va. 24012. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
