Marvin McKinnon Obituary

11/17/1929 ~ 12/17/2009 Marvin Claude McKinnon, 80, of Galax, Va., died on Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the Twin County Regional Hospital. He was born on November 17, 1929, in Grayson County, Va., to Carl and Edith Poole McKinnon. Mr. McKinnon is survived by his wife, Imogene Burris McKinnon, of Galax; daughters and sons-in-law, Pansy and Jerry Farris, of Kernersville, N.C., and Becky and Allen Shaw, of Hillsville; sons, David McKinnon, of Woodlawn, and Randy McKinnon and Doug McKinnon, both of Galax; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Floyd Sexton, and Frances and Jack Casstevens, all of Mt. Airy, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2009, in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with burial in the Summerfield UMC Cemetery. The Rev. Rodney Christman and the Rev. Bob Adams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2009, at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Hillsville VFW Post # 1115. Guest Book available at www. vaughanguynn.com.
