My condolences to Uncle Mike's family at a very difficult time. I really never saw Uncle Mike a whole lot, but when I did, I was treated as if I was his own daughter. He always had a kind word and I will particularly remember his adorable laugh. He welcomed my husband Ray into his family with open arms. May he rest in peace.
May his memory be eternal....

I first met Mike and Tessie at Stephanies house during the holidays a few years ago. I could tell right away that he was a gentle man who cared for his family and he displayed that smile that everyome talked about.
My next encounter with Mike was in Salt Lake. Stephanie and myself went there to visit him in the hospital. I sat with him as he atempted to count small change, part of his rehab. He struggled to put pennies, nickels, dimes together to come up with the correct sum. After several trys he was able to acomplish the task. His determination and will showed, and yes the smile was there.
My last wisit with Mike was at Christines wedding where he so proudly walked her down the aisle, that smile radiating.
My thoughts are with all the family. He will be missed, but rememberd. I am very fortunate to have known Mike

I like to pay tribute to a great wonderful human being who became our friend. The gift of friendship and the peach tree we will cherish. Dear Paula and Mike I admire you for taking such good care of your father -- proof of the genuine love you share for one another. The feeling of missing a dear one who has gone on is hard but remember; when the heart weeps for what it has lost, the spirit rejoices for what it has found.

As a young boy in the 40's and early 50's, I remember the Maverakis home next to Liberty Park was our home away from home when we came to Salt Lake City. There was always hearfelt love shown to our
family. Michael projected Maverakis love and kindness to my mother, Helen Zoolakis Flynn, both in the Wellington and Avelon nursing homes; comforting her in her dementia. I'm sure the love Michael expressed here on earth will also be expressed in Heaven.

What an incredible person, helping people that were not even your relatives but your friends, and sometime just people in need. You helped my parents when my Father was sick and even after he died, you were there for my Mom and I hope you knew how much it meant to us. There is a special place in heaven for people like you. I knew you as Uncle Mitch.
Your family was blessed to have a great Husband and Father like you. May your memory be eternal.

My Grandpa,
Was the best man i knew. I looked up to him in many many ways. I remember when i was little and we would go on long fishing trips, and i would love to do this because I knew that it was his favorite thing to do. He taught me how to fish and to have a strong heart no matter what because when the doctors told my family that he would never eat again, I was shocked to see him eating full meals a few months later. I know he lived his life to the fullest and he enjoyed spending time with his family. I will remember him always as a hero and he was a hero to a lot of people. Now he is in a happier place.
One Love,

Grandpa Mike- He always made me feel like a biological grand- daughter. I remember the house in West Covina so vividly and I have such special memories that I'll keep forever...stock market in the morning, gardening (I can still taste the cherry tomatoes)in the afternoon. Remember Steph when I stepped in a mound of red ants and was covered from head to toe...ouch...ha/ha! Mike made us all feel so special and loved. Caleb and I send our love and sympathy to all of you. Christine, I wish that I was able to give you a hug on that day... please know that I love you and I'm hear for you always.

My Grandpa was the best man to ever walk this planet! He was my mentor and taught me how to live life to the fullest. He was a lover and a fighter and taught me that family is the most important aspect of life. If there is one thing that I will take from our relationship it would be to NEVER NEVER give up. I Love you granda and will do my best to continue on your legacy.

My father was the greatest man in the world. He was my inspiration. He taught me how to be strong, and how I could accomplish anything in life as long as I worked hard for it. He was always there for me through happy and sad times. I will miss him, but I know he is always here with me in spirit. My father was a very sweet, gentle and compassionate man.

Uncle Mike - wow. What a heart, smile and life. You always felt that you could be yourself around him, he never judged you and took you into his embrace without fail. He was a very special friend to my father George and I know Uncle Mike has made him a better person.

May His Memory Be Eternal.

My father was the kindest and the most gentle person I ever met. He will be deeply missed. He is my strength in everything I do. He will be in my heart and thoughts daily.

We sometimes called him "Big Mike", 'cause our son was "little Mike", but I see now this nickname also applies to his heart. Even though I was the young buck come to take his first daughter away, he was always kind, respectful and gentle with me, even after Paula and I were no longer together! He showed me, just in his everyday manner, so many good qualities a man could have. Mike, your work is done here, you did it well, and we know the angles are glad to see you come. Rest in peace, sweet friend.
