He spent his early school years in mining towns across Utah and Nevada, graduating from high school in Fallon, NV. Attendance at the University of Nevada, Reno, was interrupted by his enlistment for a tour of duty in the US Navy, from 1942-1946. He married M. Ray began his career with Kennecott Copper Corp. in 1950, during which he received an advanced degree in business administration from the Harvard Business School. Later he became the General Superintendent of Operations at the Bingham mine and mill. After retiring, he continued in the mining industry with IRECO Inc. from 1968 - 1986. Ray was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling many callings, including high priest group leadership in Holladay and bishop of the Copperton Ward. He and his wife served a mission to Jackson, MI. An avid fisherman and exercise enthusiast, Ray enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, working, serving, and laughing with them. He is survived by his wife, Fay; their five children; Gary (Janet) Gough, Judy (Paul) Monsen, Diane (David) Young, Roger Gough, Brian Gough; their 17 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
