Annie Smoot Foster, 94 of Warrenton, VA died Sept. 29, 2008 at the Fauquier Hospital.

She was born Oct. 21, 1913 in Rappahannock County, VA a daughter of the late Thomas and Edna French Smoot. She was preceded in death by her husband- Lyle J. Foster and three children- Bessie Sanford, Elizabeth Morris and Ronald Lee Foster.

For many years, Mrs. Foster was employed as a nurse's aide at the former District Nursing Home in Warrenton until its closing. She was an original resident of Warrenton Manor.

She is survived by three sons- David Lee Foster, Warrenton, Lyle J. Foster, Jr., Manassas, and Charles Foster, Chesterfield Township, MI; one daughter- Ann Foster, Massachusetts; three brothers- Bernard Smoot, Mississippi, Arthur Smoot of Flint Hill, VA and Clabert Smoot, Washington, VA; 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Wednesday at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 2 PM at Washington Masonic Cemetery, Washington, VA by Rev. C. W. Trenum.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Warrenton Vol. Fire and Rescue Co., 167 W. Shirley Ave., Warrenton, VA 20186.
