Gladys June Umberger, age 90, passed away in her home, Wednesday, October 1, 2008. Mrs. Umberger was born in Stevensburg, Virginia, January 25, 1918 to James William Hansbrough and Dora Ellen Walker Hansbrough; loved her family, enjoyed cooking, music and dancing. In her youth she was a member of the Stevensburg Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Umberger are her children, Marie A. (Tonie) Fincham and her husband, Paul, of Culpeper, Virginia, Michael Delligatti and his wife, Debie, of Canton, Illinois, Sandra Staggs and her husband, Bill, of Kentucky, Jimmy Bullock and his wife, Anne, of Burke, Virginia, and Jack Bullock and his wife, Jannie, of Alabama; her sister, Jessie H. Brown, of Culpeper, Virginia; her grandchildren, Caitlyn Fincham, Chris Fincham, Chrissy Delligatti, Carly Delligatti, Cameron Delligatti, John Plemmons, Mark Plemmons, Patty Plemmons, Mike Bullock, Lori Bullock and Jack Bullock; a number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a dear companion, Helen Banks, of Culpeper, Virginia.

Her parents, her husband Allen Lee Umberger, her granddaughter Jackquenette and a number of brothers and sisters precede her in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home with the Rev. John Burke conducting the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until service time. Condolences may be made at clore-english.com.
