Dear Amy, Tom, Debbie, and the entire Craig family,
My deepest condolences to your family. Growing up in Candor I remember Puss fondly, as well as the entire Craig family. I have been gone from Candor for many years but occasionally would run into Puss at my Dad's house or around town when I was home visiting, and was always greeted with a big smile from Puss and some scarcastic comment about leaving home and running away to California. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Debbie, Tom and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of loss. I was privileged enough to see Puss a couple of times in recent months and he had some wisecracks ready for me of course :) He was the kind of man who inspires you to be a better person. Puss brought much joy to the people around him and we are sad that he has left us.

Debbie, Tom, Amy and the entire Craig family,
My thoughts are with you all. What a sad and unexpected loss. My memories are filled with timeless jokes and the fact that he knew Amy's friends as kids and still knew us as adults.
My thoughts are with you all.

Dear Amy, Tom, Debbie, and the entire Craig family,
I am truly saddened to hear about your loss. I knew Richard “Puss” Craig as “Amy’s dad.” He was the dad who had the gusto to bring two 16-year-old girls (!) on a family trip to Lake Placid, to let a slew of teenagers have a sleepover in an extra trailer in the back yard, and to feed us all more than enough breakfast in the morning. Most of all, his jokes, observations, and wisecracks proved time and time again that he was the source of my friend Amy’s enduring humor and zest for life. My thoughts are with you all.

Dickie (later Puss) was easily the most well-liked kid in our class. He deserved it. He was one of those rare people who was friendly to, and a friend to, everyone. Sounds trite, but it's true.
He was comfortable in any group, but never played favorites with his friendship. I think he made each of us feel that we were a special friend to him. By his example, he taught us to ignore social status and relate to the uniqueness in each individual.
He had a great sense of humor about everything - he brightened our days. To his family and friends, I hope your memories of his wry comments will lighten your grief at least a bit. I wish I could hear what wisecracks he would make about this and the other guestbook entries - we can only imagine...

Debbie and Tom-
Your dad/husband was the hero many times in the VanScoy household! I can remember during one of the many floods in our old basement on Spencer Avenue, he would come to our rescue!
But the most significant, and probably most annoying to you, was the Christmas morning he came to my folk's house on the hill and fixed the furnace.
He was, obviously, of a generous nature and his idea of customer service was taught to him well by his parents (and reinforced by Debbie) and will be hard to come by again.
Thanks for the (warm) memories-
I am sorry for your loss...
