Cosimo P. Chiaradio

Cosimo P. Chiaradio, 95, of Westerly, beloved husband of Ann. P. Chiaradio for 68 years, died in his home on June 20, 2008.
He was the son of Pietro Carmen and Angelina (Perrone) Chiaradio. Cosimo is survived by his son Peter John, and his daughter Joann Romano and her husband John. He is also survived by his sisters, Rose Christina, Antoinette Thackery and her husband Frank, and Anna Urso and her husband John; his sisters in law, Mary Chiaradio, Gloria Malagrino, Vera Lupica and her husband Alex, Yolanda Chapman and Vickie Malagino; and by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Sam and George Chiaradio; his sisters, Louise Romano and Celina Perrone; his sisters-in-law, Minnie Chiaradio and Terry Chiaradio; his brothers-in-law, Angelo Christina, Mario Romano, Anthony Perrone, Oscar Chapman Jr., Leonard and Anthony Malagrino; and his nephews, John and Leonard Malagrino Jr., Nicholas Lupica and John Urso Jr.
Cosimo worked at the Bradford Dyeing Association. He owned and managed the Capri Motel with his wife Ann. He was the manager of the state beach.
Cosimo loved reading books and watching movies from all times and from all countries, but his favorites since he was a boy were Westerns. He loved golf, to garden, and make jewelry and to give it to others.
He had a wonderful memory and warm sense of humor and he loved to tell stories of the days of his youth. He remained a young man in mind and in heart all the days of his life.
Cosimo loved many and he was loved in return by his family and his many friends. He lived a long and a full life, and he will be missed by all those who loved him.
Visiting hours will be held at the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
