Warren Siemens Obituary
Warren D. Siemens, age 79, beloved to many, passed away on December 28, 2017 at his Albuquerque home after a long struggle with cancer.
Warren, a MIT PhD, retired as Dir. of Technology Transfer at Sandia Labs in 1998. He was known for rebuilding homes across the US with Mennonite Disaster Service, for his wood-carving talent, and for his love of hiking.
Warren is survived by his wife of 58+ years, Carol; his children, Melissa, NM, Audrey, NC, and Rachel, MD; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

I had the privilege of working for Warren at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and considered him a mentor in the area of technology transfer. He was farsighted in exploring the nexus between government-funded technology and commercial productivity. While he was highly accomplished in his chosen profession, Warren's interpersonal skills were especially notable. Always respectful of others and quick with a smile, his warmth in every circumstance will always remain my most treasured memory of him.

I had the great pleasure of working for Warren for a number of years. He was a joy to work for -- kind, supportive, and always smiling. Even after we both retired, I kept my wonderful memories of Warren. My condolences to his lovely wife and his daughters.

The Siemens were our neighbors in Oak Ridge for many years and I have good memories of Mr Siemens - always a very friendly and kind man. Very sorry for your loss.

Warren was a beautiful child of God and we truly enjoyed being he and Carol's neighbors and friends. We know how hard it is loosing a loved one especially this holiday season. We lost our 46 year old Melissa to breast cancer in March.
