I was just thinking of Marie the other day, and reflecting on the positive impact she had on my life. I think most of all it was her unconditional acceptance of me as a human being. Another thing that stands out is that she had visited Taize in France and gave me a cassette of the songs/chants sung there by people from all over the world - always thoughtful was Marie, truly one of a kind, and I still miss her.

Sad to learn of Marie's illness & passing. It has been many years but I still remember helping her & Jane move from the big house in Blairstown to Vailsburg, cleaning out the basement, etc. It was a difficult time in my life but getting my "marching orders" from Marie gave it a positive spin, & of course, there was CROP. (I wish I had known about the Step Dancing, Marie, I would have asked for lessons!) What a great smile (that reached up to her eyes) and what a great soul! Save a spot for me, Marie.

Marie really "walked the walk" while here on earth.
The world is a better place because of her love, kindness, compassion, and support. She is a modern day Mother Teresa, and she will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Thank you for all that you have done for my family over the years. We will meet again one day my friend. You are greatly loved and missed.

So sorry to learn about Marie's passing. She helped me organize many CROP walks in my town & gave August & I great advice on our first trip to Ireland. May her family & friends find comfort that she was indeed a faithful servant of our Lord.

Marie will be missed. Knowing her and working with her during the CROP WALKS over the years I was so blessed and fortunate to have been in her life. Her love of life and others was always apparent. Her sense of humor and humbleness will be something I never will forget. My deepest sympathies on your family's loss. But what a joy she must have been in your life.

I am so sorry I cannot attend the Memorial Mass to celebrate Marie's life! I knew her first as Sr. Myles who came to set our wayward 8th grade class straight at neighboring Holy Spirit School (Union) when our teacher-principal was on sick leave! Twenty years later our paths crossed again many times over-- this time as the "Crop Lady." Although we often shared good laughs over my early memories I was fortunate, as an adult, to get know her again as a joyful, energetic woman who cared passionately about world hunger and did all she could for the poor and hungry both locally and globally! I am sure by now she is dancing in heaven. I'll miss her greatly.

I will always remember her as Myles. She hired me for my first teaching position at St. Mikes in 1971. She took a chance on a young guy straight out of college. She taught me many things that I still share with teachers today. She was a wonderful person and we are all better for having known her.
