I can’t go with out sending my condolences to the family of John Tuscany. I was so sad to hear that he was ill, than now of his passing. Sadly I did not make the funeral.

It’s been years since I met the man, going back to my “FRSB” banking days... but his love for Yuba City made a difference to me and others. John W. Tuscano Jr., lost his battle to cancer on February 24, 2021. He worked and lived in Yuba City his entire life and his work and memory will remain in Yuba City for life..

I am going to share my story may not mean much to you, but since I love history this story needs to be shared. I remember he was so proud and took so much pride in the “Little John House” on Franklin Rd in Yuba City. I had the pleasure of going on a special tour of the house through his eyes.

From basement to the Veranda, he gave me the grand tour, the house a Queen Anne Victorian in 1899 was built after the original was destroyed by fire. The dumbwaiter that was put in not for food purposes but for the laundry. John told me of every detail, I especially loved how he explained to me about the hidden decor, my favorite being, the hidden Acorns in the house and they were all over, he told what they represented.

As you walk into the home visitors were well welcomed, wishing good luck and prosperity, the acorns were over the entry way within a stain glass, some hidden in the borders, the curtains and even in the staircase. You really had to look hard to find them, but John pointed them out to me. Silly little thing but I never forgot, the passion he shared when he told me these tidbits. Today never to be forgotten, so respectively, when I gave tours of the Little John house, I always mentioned it and proudly are my thoughts always of John. Yea, We’re gonna miss the guy, it’s no wonder that the City of Yuba City gave him the “Key to the City” so on February 24th I’m almost sure that many “Acorns” lined the “Gates to Heaven” for everywhere he goes luck and prosperity is there to welcome this fine man...He will be missed dearly.
