Jerome Spindler Obituary


Family-Placed Death Notice

SPINDLER, Jerome Jerome George "Jerry" Spindler, 84, husband of Elinor Jerguson Spindler, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Athens Regional Medical Center. A native of Stratford, WI, he was the son of the late George and Helen Krings Spindler. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII and retired from Ford Motor Company, Hapeville, GA after more than thirty years. He served as past president for the Royston Dixie Yellow Rockers square dance club. In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters: Roberta Day of Lavonia, Mimi Patel of Newnan, Jenny Williams of Athens, Sara Neal of Senoia; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and his sister: Olive Burkhart of Whitehall, WI. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Lavonia United Methodist Church, with grandson, Rev. David Eckert officiating. A gathering will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, GA Chapter at www.cff.org or the Alzheimer's Association, 1925 Century Blvd. Ste. 10, Atlanta, GA 30345. Lord & Stephens, EAST, Athens, GA is in charge of arrangements.
