Family-Placed Death Notice
Michael J. Gonzalez, age 82 of Stone Mountain, GA, died June 23, 2006. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ilse Gonzalez; Daughter, Marion Sweeney, Stone Mountain; Sister, Mary Ann Leech, Lawrenceville; Grandchildren, Shaun, Michael, Scott, Alina; Great Grandchildren, David, Christina, Alysse, Shae; Nephew and Nieces, Brian, Victoria and Jacqueline. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1923, Mr. Gonzalez served in the U.S. Army during WWII, retired from J. C. Penney as a computer programmer in 1985, and was a member of New Covenant Community Church. He enjoyed photography and was a baseball fan. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Monday, June 26, 2006 at New Covenant Community Church with Pastor Marty Barrett officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 - 9 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Gonzalez family, 1087 Redan Trail Court, Stone Mountain, GA 30088. Tom M.
