David McKee Obituary

Mr. David Vincent McKee, 59, husband of Minnie McKee, entered into rest on Saturday, March 04, 2017, at his residence.

His funeral service will be held at Christian Heritage Church on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Stephen Phillips officiating. Interment will be private.

Mr. McKee was born in Springfield, MA, and resided for a number of years in Dover, DE, before making the CSRA his home in 1996. He loved the Lord and was a member of Christian Heritage Church. David played the bass guitar and loved southern gospel music. He will be remembered as a brave, strong, quiet man with a gentle soul. He was very patriotic and as a Civil War reenactor, he would fight in both the Confederate and Union Armies. Blessed with the ability to fix anything, his family fondly called him MacGyver and he was never without a flashlight. David was a paramedic and volunteer firefighter, having served as Asst. Chief of Camden-Wyoming FD in Delaware. He loved his wife, his family, his dog Shadow, the University of Alabama and watching his grandsons play baseball.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 37 years, who he called the love of his life, are his daughters, Jillian McKee Dillon (Matthew) and Brandi McKee Bell, both of North Augusta, Shayna McKee and her fiance Richard Bustamante of Augusta; six grandsons, David Bell, IV, Myles Price, Bryson Bell, Landon Dillon, Aidan Nolan Dillon and Carter Vincent Bustamante; his mother, Joyce Ford of FL; his sister Susan McKee of CA; his brothers-in-law, Thomas Price (Christine), Gerald Price (Charnelle) and William Price; his sisters-in-law Judy Nazelrod, Amy Graham and Rebecca Martin (Allen).

He was preceded in death by his father, Vince McKee; his mother and father-in-law Nolan and Shirley Price and his brother-in-law, his buddy, Pete Nazelrod.

The family will receive friends at Rowland Funeral Home on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church.

I remember David from UH Security department as we were on shift together. In a department where respect and kindness was seldom in the forefront David always treated me with the utmost of respect. I will always remember him for that. I am very sorry for your loss Mrs. McKee and family and pray for peace in your hearts.

David, I am sure you will be missed. I remember how well you played the gituir at church. How you are your family was such a blessing to the church at End Time Harvest. I played the Organ and sister Railey the Piano. What service we used to have. I am sure you will be really enjoy the music in Heaven. Praying for the family.
