Leland Barlow, better known as "The Boss" or "Mr. B.", went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 28, 2010 after a brief illness. Born in Phoenix, on September 29, 1930, he was the son of the late Marcus and Parrie Lou (Carlton) Barlow. Leland graduated from North High School in June 1949 and immediately married the love of his life, Lois Aiken, in July of 1949. They celebrated 61 years of marriage this past July. Leland was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. Leland followed his father into the appliance repair industry, and started Barlow Delivery in 1956, a local appliance delivery business. To relax, he loved spending time at his cabin, in beautiful Greer, Arizona. Leland was an incredible husband, loving father, adoring grandpa, and a friend to every stranger. He was a man with a big personality and a generous heart for others. He was also the ultimate Phoenix Suns fan and never missed a game. Leland was fully devoted to his Lord and Savior and over the years had served in several Baptist churches. He is survived by his wife, Lois, their three children, Susan (Tom) Reynolds, Sherie (Gary) Nelson, and Steve, seven grandchildren, Leland McVey, Kristina (Justin) Wise, Nicole Nelson, Heidi (Rob) Deadmond, Andrew (Elaine) Nelson, Cammie (Rory) Hensley, and Krystal Reynolds, 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many more family and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd from 5:30 to 6:30 at Glendale Church of the Nazarene, 5902 W. Cactus Road, Glendale. A celebration of Leland's life will follow at 6:30 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Leland's name to Lakeside Baptist Church, P.O. Box 6625, Peoria, AZ, 85385.
