Richard Turner Obituary

Richard J. Turner Nov. 15, 1942 - Sept. 23, 2007 Richard John Turner, born November 15, 1942 to Robert and Betty Turner, passed away on September 23, 2007 after a difficult battle with cancer. Richard traveled around the western parts of the United States with his parents and his parents' best friends during childhood due to his father's occupation as a carpenter. Richard completed an apprenticeship program in insulation, heat, frost and asbestos. He worked for the Local 5 Union Workers in Los Angeles and Bakersfield, CA throughout his life. He retired from A.S.I. Inc. He is survived by his wife, Julie Turner, his daughter Georgia Fike, and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Julia and Justin Fike. Richard had a great love for motorcycles and enjoyed many years of friendship with his "motorcycle buddies" and their families. Richard was a kind, considerate and caring man who never had an unkind word, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. Father Ricardo Magdaleno will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NevadaCancerInstitute.org.
