Bernard Holdener Bernard J. Holdener, 89, of Fairview Heights, IL, born on January 16, 1929, in East St. Louis, IL, died on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL. Bernard was a Korean War Army Veteran. He retired after 31 years as a Production Control Clerk at Laclede Steel Company, St. Louis, MO. Bernard was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Thursday Crew and an Usher. He was a former member of St. Albert the Great Church Mens's Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Albertine, nee Touchette Holdener; his daughter, Delores Holdener; and his parents, Melchior and Clara, nee Louis, Holdener. Bernard is survived by his children, Bernard Holdener II, of Fairview Heights, IL; Janice M. (Dennis) Maggio of Millstadt, IL, Michael J. (Jean) Holdener of Caseyville, IL and Kenneth P. (Debra) Holdener of Belleville, IL; his 7 grandchildren, Andria M. (Christian) Powell, Brad Maggio, Nicholas B. (Stephanie) Holdener, Tony (Alisha) Holdener, Katie L. Holdener, Stephanie Holdener, and Michele Holdener; his 4 great-grandchildren, Sebastian Powell, Elke Powell, Lillian Maggio and Penny Maggio; his sister, Rita O'Donnell of Belleville, IL; his brother, Melvin (Frances) Holdener of Grant Pass, OR. He is also survived by a brother-in-law and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorials are preferred in the form of masses to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or to Holy Trinity Building Fund. Services: A funeral procession will leave Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL, on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fairview Heights, IL, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Fr. Jim Nall officiating. Interment will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL. '
