We're finding out that John was more of a celebrity than we thought. He was a moderator on the ESPN message board and expatriated from there when he became disenfranchised with management. He started his own Mariners blog and had a huge following. He had many kind remarks left on his blog when they heard of his passing. Even the trolls who loved to conflict with him respected him and said they will miss him.
Shari told me that she can not remember ever being mad at John for any reason his whole life. That can rarely be said about anyone. When I think about it, I would have to concur.

Uncle John, you were my first best friend, life is not going to be the same without you.
