Jon Jay Todd and Carol Lynn Otteson Todd
On February 2nd, our wonderful father, Jon Jay Todd, went to join his beloved wife, Carol Lynn Otteson Todd, who passed October 4, 2022. Carol was a long time employee at St. Vincent Healthcare. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and collecting trinkets. Jon and Carol were married for 51 years and had a lifetime of adventures together. They loved riding motorcycles, playing pool in numerous leagues with their many friends, and making memories with their grandkids. Jon was a well-known meteor and fossil hunter. He was a member of the American Legion and Eagles after serving in the Air Force. He often could be found having coffee with his many customers at his shop, Rocky Mountain Motors where he was the best mechanic ever. Our Dad could fix anything and had the most contagious smile! He was the best of men and will be dearly missed.
Dad and Mom are survived by their three children and eight grandchildren. A private family event has been planned to celebrate their lives.

Jon and Carol will be missed ! I remember the times we went fishing and camping together and us kids played in the water while our parents sat around the camp fire talking. The family picnics , playing volleyball and just hanging out . Later , when I was older and working at the clinic , it was such a treat to see my Aunt and uncle come in ! We would visit and give big hugs . They both will be missed . My thoughts and prayers go out to the 3 of you.

So sad to hear about Jon's passing. Just talked to him about a month ago and he told me about Carol. Never said a word about himself. Met Jon when he was twisting wrenches on Honda motorcycles and went in with him at United Cycle on 4th ave N. I have never seen anyone who new as much about or could work on a Honda 750 like Jon. Going to miss him. My condolences to the family.

Thinking of all Jon´s family. Jon was our most wonderful mechanic, keeping our various old Volvos and Saabs on the road for many many years. Including at least one home visit to get the car going, so I could get 3 sick kids to the doctor. I hope Jon knows that we still use his clamp light method for keeping the engine warm in cold temps. He always had an inexpensive way to solve a problem!
Mostly he was just a wonderful person and I´m so sorry for your loss of him.

We will miss Jon and Carol. Jon was a crackerjack mechanic, the best ever, so helpful and trustworthy. He was always helping me fix our Saab. They both were so kind and we are blessed to have memories of so many family picnics, fishing trips, playing cards, and just being together. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Jon was a good man and a kind soul. I never heard him utter a bad word about anyone. His smile was infectious, and he was always ready to help anyone in need. A lot of people will miss Jon. I know that I will.

Very Sad to hear of Jon's passing. I knew him from HS Days at West High in the mid 60's. Worked with Jon at The old Barney's Cycle Shop/Billings Honda on Moore Lane. He was the Head Honda Mechanic and I was the Ducati and BSA mech. Very Knowledgable on Both Automotive/Motorcycle Engines. Basically a self taught mechanic. One of the highlights of his Motorcycle Riding Days was winning the 250 Class at the BMC MT State Hillclimb in 1965 on his Ducati Mk 3. He was the 1st rider to go over the top of the hill on a 250cc MC; Causing the BMC to carve out a new steeper hill to the left of the Old one.Lost touch with Jon for a number of years but was able to see him again around 2015 at his Auto Repair Business. Always liked Jon, he was a Pleasant easy going Man who was instrumental in my involvement in MC Racing & HCing on Ducati MC's. Always Sad and a Shock to hear of a Friend's passing but we will all have the same fate one day. I always think of a Song that Singer Vera Lynn sang in WW2 ("We'll Meet Again,Don't Know Where,Don't know Win") I'm counting on this for both Family/Friends...GOD SPEED Jon!
