Steve Boros Obituary

Steve W. Boros
Steve W. Boros, 94, of South Duffy Road, Butler, died at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday in Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 10, 1916, in Washington Township, he was the son of the late Joseph Boros and Mary Spisak Boros.
Mr. Boros served in the U.S. Army in World War II.
As a teenager, he worked as a coal miner. He retired as a maintenance supervisor with Butler School District.
Steve was an avid gardener and enjoyed yard work at his home, but above all, he enjoyed his family.
He was a member of First English Lutheran Church and the Hilliards VFW.
Mr. Boros is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Andrew and her husband, David, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Mary Ann Swanson and her husband, Bill, of Butler; four grandchildren, Ryan Andrew, Justin Andrew, David Swanson and Shelly Shaffer; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Clayton Shaffer; and number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Boros was preceded in death by his wife, Sophia Solomon Boros, who passed away Oct. 14, 2002; four brothers and one sister.
BOROS - There will be no public visitation. Private interment services for Steve W. Boros, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, will be at Ridgeville Cemetery, Washington Township. Memorial services will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., Butler, PA 16001.
Arrangements are being directed by Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Butler. Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
