Bud Helsel Obituary
age 88, of Louisville, Ohio, formerly of Ashland, Ohio passed away Monday, November 5, 2018. He was born August 12, 1930 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Benjamin and Annabelle Helsel. He was a 1948 graduate of Ashland High School. Bud worked as a civil engineer in Chicago for many years. He won many awards/ metals in his younger years for his sharp shooting skills. He was a member of the Louisville F.O.E, and the Juilliard Senior Center.
Bud is survived by three daughters, Cathy (Mark) Davis, Rebecca (Dennis) Maley and Sarah McCune, two sons, Daryl Helsel and Philip (Leslie) Helsel, 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Helsel.
A graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Ashland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville, Ohio. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.stierisraelfuneralhome.com

Bud stood out as a clear thinking helper at the Louisville Julliard Senior Center, a great card player, and a kind person. I remember him when i took my mother to the senior events as someone always there to help. I always looked for him at the Assisted Living where my mother in law also lives, and I miss seeing him. He left a footprint while here on earth. My condolences to his family. Im so sorry.

I am so sorry to learn of Bud's passing. My sincere sympathy to his family. It was my pleasure to call Bud my friend... he was so good me and his many friends at the Juilliard Senior Center in Louisville. His smile would light up a room. God gained a good angel with Bud.
