Ronald Mercurio Obituary

Ronald John Mercurio CHARLOTTE - Ronald John Mercurio, 68, of Charlotte, went home to his Heavenly Father and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20, 2012. Born in Rome, New York on January 22, 1944, Ronald was the son of the late George and Mary (Navelli) Mercurio. Following his graduation from Syracuse University, Ronald served his country in the US Navy. A Charlotte resident since 1983, Ron was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and prior to his retirement had worked as a Realtor, ABR and GRI in both North and South Carolina. He was a member of Charlotte Realtors Assoc and the National Realtors Assoc. Ron was also a member of the Charlotte HOG Chapter and the National HOG Assoc. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle on trips and to rallies. Ron loved God, his family and measured his true wealth in his friends. Mr. Mercurio was a talented artist and chef, who enjoyed painting, baking and leathercrafting. Besides his parents, Mr. Mercurio was preceded in death by his brother Gregory and stepson S. Troy Goodin. Ronald is survived by his wife Marcia Terwilliger Mercurio; Lorraine Mercurio, mother of his children, daughter Michelle (Stan) Greenberg of Charlotte; son Ronald A. (Deanna) Mercurio of Carlsbad, CA; stepchildren Sherry (Chris) Ebel of Statesville and Thomas Goodin of Hickory. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Shannin Washburn, Kristin Washburn and step grand-daughter Isabel Goodin and his beloved dog Harley. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 26th at 11 AM at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Rd, Charlotte. The family would like to thank the staff at Levine-Dickson Hospice House for their loving care and support. I was shocked to hear the news today. Ron has been a great friend and neighbor and will be sorely missed by me. Please know my prayers are with you during this time of grief and if there is anything I can do for you, I am just across the street.
