Gregory Yangas Obituary
Gregory J. Yangas, age 62, a 55 year resident of Lombard, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Claire Oak Assisi Health Center, Bartlett. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 26, from 2 to 8 PM at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St. Lombard. Funeral prayers Monday, 9:30 AM, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Sacred Heart Church for a 10:00 AM Mass. Interment private at Queen of Heaven, Hillside, IL. Mr. Yangas is survived by his wife, Sharon nee Piaskowski: two sons, Dan (Claudia) of Lombard and Rich (Mary) of Glen Ellyn: six grandchildren, Taylor, Nicholas, Michael, Sydney, Grace and Jonny: his brother, Leonard P. (Barbara) of FL: four nieces and nephews, Debbie (Ron) Riha of Lombard, Karen (Glenn) Gillis of Batavia, Jessica Jeanblanc of St. Louis, and Brad Jeanblanc of Chicago; his in laws, Ralph and Phyllis Piaskowski of Sun City, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents of Lombard, George P. and Marie Yangas and his nephew, David Yangas. Greg was an avid Cruise Night participant in Lombard with his, 64 Buick Electra, 73 Buick Riviera Boattail, and 75 Pontiac Grandville Convertibles. He had served as a Village Trustee for Lombard from 1976 1980. He had attended Sacred Heart Grade School, St. Francis High School, and Glenbard East High School. He was a long time member of the Lombard Jaycees where he had held various offices and had served for a long time as co-chairman for the Lombard Jaycees Haunted House Committee, and was a skillful designer of the haunted houses. He was co-owner with his son Richard of Partners Resource in Lombard for the past 10 years, former Vice President of Misco-Shawnee in Elk Grove for 10 years, 9 years with J.P. Stevens in Chicago, US Industries in Chicago Yangas for 5 years, Plunkett Furniture in Lombard 1967 to 1972, and Park Avenue Floor Covering in Lombard. He had delivered for Bona Pizza when he was in high school. Memorials to Cancer Research Foundation Post Office Box 0493, Chicago, Illinois 60690 would be appreciated.
