Janet E. Barham

1943 - 2021

Janet Barham (nee Butler), age 78, of Tinley Park. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 51 years, John; her beloved and cherished daughter, Bridget; dear sister Anita Butler; sister-in-law Maureen Fleming; Brothers-in-law, Michael (Nancy) Barham and Fred (Maureen) Barham. She will be lovingly remembered by her five nieces, including a very special and close bond with Erin (John) Day and goddaughter Cathaleen (Dan) Novak; 13 great nieces and nephews with much love and affection for Mia, Natalie and Tommy Day who returned her love and brought her so much joy and happiness; and many dear, close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emily (nee Hart) Butler and nephew Matt Barham.

Janet loved mathematics, especially geometry, and kept her mind sharp with brain teasers, sudoku and fiercely competitive battles of Tenzi, Spot-It and Uno with loved ones. She taught for 21 years at Elizabeth Seton High School and then 25 years at St. Laurence High School where she transitioned from teacher to treasurer to assistant principal. Janet may be most well-known for her love of St. Patrick's Day - her, John and Bridget's annual parties are legendary and brought together family and friends from near and far.

Visitation Friday, October 29, 2021, 4pm to 8pm at Brady-Gill Funeral Home, 16600 S. Oak Park Avenue, Tinley Park, IL 60477. Funeral Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10am from Brady-Gill Funeral Home to St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Church, 17500 84th Avenue, Tinley Park, IL, 60487; Mass at 11am. Face masks will be required at both. Interment will be private at St. Mary's Cemetery, Evergreen Park.
