Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Charlie was a 1952 graduate of Frankfort High School. He served in the United States Army, Post Korea. In September 1996 he retired from Mead Paper Company, Chillicothe.

When this memorial appeared on my computer today, it made me smile, as Charlie did every day when he came through my office. Nothing but fond memories of him. Wish I could have heard him preach, after all fo the comments that I have read. I am sure he was welcomed to and happy in heaven.

Words, even to this day can't express the kindness and support that was given to this young pastor by this man of God. His example of faith and service to live and preach the Word still challenges many who would call him friend. Love and prayers to family, as we remember together the rejoicing of heaven's gain!

I am not a godly man. I only saw him once when I was 12. To this day I compare all Preachers to him and they all fall short. But today I am 40 and remember that day. Perhaps if he had been my regular preacher things may have been different I just wanted to say he had affected me in a positive way. I M SORRY HE IS GONE And may God take him home to heaven where he belongs.

Our very precious friend. I never thought this day would come, although I felt many times as we were singing in the pulpit together that God might lift us all out of there. I find it very hard to find the right words to say. I think I summed it up in the last card I sent to you just a few months ago. Some of the greatest services we have ever been blessed to be in has been working along side of you and singing in the pulpit together. How many times we have sang "I'm Going to Heaven", and now you have beaten us there. But just as you have preached many times, that it is good-bye down here, but over there it will be "Hello" and in a hundred years, "Hello", a thousand years, "Hello" and I like "Hello" so much better because I could never say "good-bye" to you. As we have always said between us all, we were more than just great friends, we were family, and Charlie, I look forward to the day when we can say "Hello" in Heaven where death is a stranger and good-byes are never heard. We love you and life will never be the same without you. Prayers to the family. If there is ever anything we can do,Charlie said he had our number by his phone. Ship Ahoy, Charlie, until we meet again.

To this beloved Brother in Christ the door to Heaven has opened and he has been greeted by first his Saviour, then all those he so faithfully ministered to have been awaiting his arrival, and by my mother, Ruth Detillion. Charlie conducted such a beautiful memorial service at her passing. My dad always enjoyed his preaching, and also his visits to their home. They loved him dearly. Brother Charlie has made it to the land of endless day and enjoying that brand new body he welcomed. May God rest His hand upon all this wonderful family as they remember that Charlie has not died, he has just moved to his brand new home.

Heart felt condolences to the family of a man of faith and encouragement. I can only best express my feelings of love and admiration for Charles by relaying how he encouraged my own call to the ministry and inspired the faith of a young confused man at a pivotal time in life. Our family considered him a friend and love he and his family devotedly. May my heart be aflame with the fire of God as his continued to be all these years.. Thank you Lord and family for giving us Charles these years. Rev. Dan Bennett
