Elizabeth P. Covert, 95, died Friday, July 12, 2024, in Dallas surrounded by family.
She was born in Kingston in 1928 to the late Albert H. and Emily Gregory Parrish.
Elizabeth graduated early from Dallas High School and attended Wyoming Seminary Business School. She was an assistant basketball coach and taught physical education at College Misericordia in the 1960s. She conducted estate and tag sales for more than 40 years. She volunteered at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Covert, whom she married in 1969, in 1992; and a brother, Arthur G. Parrish, in 1982.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Titus Miers and her husband, Carl, Dallas; four granddaughters, Susan Smith and her husband, Brian Smith, Mohrsville; Amy Thomas and her husband, Bruce; Emily Owens; Debra Traver and her husband, Chris, all of Dallas; five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan and Carleigh Thomas; Kayla and Tyler Owens; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Christopher and Laurel Traver.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
