Oscar Pulliam Obituary

Fayette County - Oscar Edward “Ed” Pulliam, 75, former mayor of Moscow, Tennessee, husband of Frances Langdon Pulliam and owner of Ed Pulliam Manufactured Housing, died Tuesday morning May 9, 2006, at his residence in Moscow. Funeral services for Mr. Pulliam will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with interment in the Somerville City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be at Peebles Main Chapel from 6 - 8 p.m Wednesday. Mr. Pulliam was a member of the Moscow United Methodist Church, a commissioner of the Fayette and Hardeman Utility District and former president of the Tennessee Manufactured Housing Association. He was also a former Commodore of Pickwick Yacht Club and Col. No. 12 in the TN Jaycees. He owned Ed Pulliam Manufactured Housing and for the last 40 years he loved the fact that he could provide a better standard of living for many people in Fayette County. Those he sold homes to became his family. Mr. Pulliam loved boating and spent most of the last 50 years at Pickwick Lake on the weekends, where he had many, many close friends. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances Pulliam, his children, Debra Ann Walters and husband, George, of Bolivar, Ed Pulliam, Jr. and wife, Joyce, of Moscow and Amy Leigh McClure of Moscow, his grandchildren, Ben Walters and wife, Kate, of Memphis, Erin Walters of New York City, Damon Pulliam, Kara Pulliam, Kimberly McClure and Courtney McClure, all of Moscow. Mr. Pulliam was the brother of Ada Mae Henley of Batesville, AR and Harlan Pulliam of Somerville. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and his constant companion, a maltese named Sustah. Mr. Pulliam was preceded in death by his sisters, Hortense Crawford and Mary Nell Black, his brothers, J.H. Pulliam and Julian Pulliam.
