I knew instantly as I turned the page in my Herald here on the west coast that I recognized that beautiful lady pictured. Belle was a good friend of my mother's, our family's, and mine. When I think of those years spent in Huntingburg and the wonderful times we all shared, I am reminded of an intelligent, charming, and elegant lady. A sparkle not only in her eye but in her laugh. I know I speak for all of my family when sending prayers and condolences.
Sincerely, Marilyn Katterhenry Wiggins

Don and family, Our prayers are with you as we learn that Belle has gone home to the Lord. What an extra spark she always added to our times together in St. Andrews Society gatherings.
Our love to you,

22nd June, 2010.
Belle Windmiller was a wonderful lady with whom Mike and I shared a special friendship spanning many years.
Belle, was born in Scotland and lived in Joppa, a village now part of the city of Edinburgh. Belle was fiercely proud of her Scottish roots and often when she and I were together people would comment on my accent which, being from the west coast, has a stronger brogue than Belle's more refined Edinburgh accent. Eventually people would hear hers and think we were mother and daughter which was certainly a compliment to me and tickled Belle. She was in many ways my "other mother" as I often called her. Belle was always happy when Mike and I would visit her and Don when they lived in Huntingburg and subsequently in Evansville. She was especially pleased to see Mike as he always did justice to Belle's cooking and baking skills. You certainly never left that home feeling hungry or unloved and there was always a "cairy oot" with enough to feed an army for a week.
Yes, Belle loved people but she was loved in return by the many, many people whose lives she touched with her smile and generous spirit. That spirit will live on in our hearts.
God bless you Belle.

I will miss her wonderful smile, she was always interesting to talk with and so much fun to be around.
Belle's passing is a great loss to The St. Andrew's Society and a huge loss to all of us who loved her.
Deepest Sympathy.

I am reading this obituary at my home in Midland, Michigan and want to express my heartfelt condolences to you, Dr. Windlmiller and family. You were members of Salem Church in Huntingburg and you, Dr. Windmiller were my dentist. I remember you both and your kindness.
