Carl Demore Obituary

Carl J. Demore, Jr.
August 10, 2019 - Carl J. Demore, Jr., originally from Trumbull, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and daughter. Having just turned 75 years old in July, he joined his daughter Stephanie and his parents Carl Sr. and Mary in Heaven. Carl leaves behind his wife, Brenda, of 43 years, his two remaining daughters, Stacy (Jim) and Elizabeth (Jim). He also leaves behind his 8 grandchildren, Jenna, Krysta, Gabriel, Cole, Hannah, Jaxxson, Shelby, and his newest unborn granddaughter due in February, along with Stephanie's husband Bob (Renee) and his new family. He will be watching over his sister, Marilyn (Bill), step mother, Ida, and nephews Billy (Liane) and Jason (Gianna) and great-nephew, Giancarlo.
Carl graduated from UConn in 1966, going to work at United Technologies straight out of school and retiring from there in 2000. He loved his home in Goshen, CT despite the long drive to work in East Hartford/North Haven. Here he could enjoy his favorite activities with his family; canoeing, hiking, and camping-eventually swapping the tent for an RV to further enjoy his retirement with Brenda.
At age 14, Carl, along with 4 friends, began singing Doo-Wop. They called themselves the Utations and would perform at their high school and at the street corner by Marritt Canteen in Trumbull, CT. They separated but reunited in 1979, changing their name to Yesteryear and going on to do many performances and winning "Best in Connecticut" more than once.
Carl was an avid Porsche enthusiast and owned many in his lifetime, often competing with his award winning, and prized, 1988 911T Carrera.
Carl lived a full and happy life with few regrets. He worked hard to ensure his family was well taken care of and able to enjoy life with him. He was very loved and will be missed terribly, but he leaves behind so many blessings and happy memories. "I lived, I loved and I was loved so very, very much".
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August, 16, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 71 North Street, Goshen, CT 06756. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held prior to Mass at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield from 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Carl was a wonderful person greatly missed

My dear husband,
How I wish I could share with the world how much you meant to me. I am so lost without you. I play your Yesteryear CD every morning. the one you mixed and sang all the leads. At the time I was impressed but it means so much more now that I don't hear your voice everyday. At least I hear your voice singing, songs that were meant for me. I gave you my heart on May 29,1976 when we married. It was the happiest day of my life and you took my heart. when you left me on August 10, 2019, the saddest day of my life..

I am not sure how I am going to move on without you. I will do my best because that is what you would expect of me. I will miss you forever my Bear. Take care of Steph, Jeremy and Jameson and I will see you again and collect the biggest hub and kiss ever. Until then my love, know you were the best husband ever! We were a team and always will be. I am very sorry that Carl has passed on. He was such a gentleman. We would go to Marisa's all the time to hear Yesteryear as my brother, Donny, was also a singer in the group. I especially loved when Carl sang the Platters' songs. They are both in Heaven now. May he rest in peace too.
