Florian Staicu

STAICU Mr. Florian "Tom" Staicu, age 56, of Huntersville, NC, formerly of Connecticut died peacefully after a courageous battle with heart disease on Saturday, August 7, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. Born July 16, 1954 in Bucharest Romania, he was the son of the late Gheorghe Staicu and Ecaterina Ivanciu Staicu. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, and a long time employee of the Bic Co. of Milford who loved to cook, spend time with his family and dogs, Molly, Rosie and Chewy. Tom was a faithful friend and a much loved husband and father who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 36 years, Deborah Favereau Staicu, and his loving daughter, Catherine Staicu-Peterson and son-n-law Mike of Hamden. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete and Lisa Kavouras, Laura Favereau-Merry, Donald K. Favereau and Michael J. Favereau, mother-in-law and father-in-law Marilyn and Donald Favereau; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Romania. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Nicolae Vanghele. A Funeral mass will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at St Mark Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raymer Funeral Home.
