Jennie Chill Obituary

CHILL Jennie JoAnn Chill of Bridgeport, died on Thursday, November 17, 2005. Born in McKeesport, Pa., she was a Bridgeport resident for most of her life. Jennie had retired from Park City Hospital, where she had been a medical transcriptionist. She was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, the ladies guild and a willing volunteer of church functions. A woman of many interests, she enjoyed political debate and world events. She was fond of animals and wildlife, supported various environmental and conservation causes. Her many travels included touring the Middle East and safaries in Africa. A sportswoman, Jennie played tennis and even in later years, synchronized swimming. One of her greatest joys was visiting Seaside Park with her daughter, Jodi and having a hot dog together. Jennie will be remembered for her love of family, her fiesty spirit, quick wit and that she was forever young at heart. In addition to her daughter Jodi, survivors include her nephews, Andrew, Robert, James and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Alexander; and her sister, Margaret. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:15 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center and at 11 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, 100 St. John's Drive, Trumbull. Burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, from 9:15 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, One St. Jude Place Bldg. P.O. BOX 1000, Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552. Hi Jodi, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. She is probably visiting with all her old family and friends and every now and then looking down on us to make sure we are ok.

Dear Jodi,

I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I lost my dad a year ago this month and had put his memoriam in the Post and that's when I saw your mom's name.

It's been a long time, but I wanted you to know I was thinking of you.

Take care.

Jodi,

I had the pleasure of meeting your mom and you through the Almost Family agency. I remember Ms.Chill as a very sweet lady, I enjoyed the times we went out to the store, to her Dr. appointment, but most of all spending time at Seaside park having hotdogs. I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of need.

Dear Jodi,

I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I only found out on Monday, upon returning to work and Kay not being here. I know you went through a lot with your mom being ill. It is always so hard to watch someone die. I experienced this with my own mom. (who I miss dearly)

In time the loss will lessen. Remember the good times, the happy moments, the stuff that you can't make up. Laugh and cry, but know she is in a place where she is at peace. Know that my heartfelt prayers are with you and your extended family.

With our sincere sympathy and prayers, the Daniels Family,

Kim, Paul, Nick and Stephanie

Jennie will undoubtedly be missed by all who new her and her love of life. However, she leaves behind a legacy of unselfish, unwaivering and unconditional love in her daughter Jodi. What a wonderful gift to all who cross Jodi's path in life. Love and Prayers for Jennie, Jodi and her family.
