William C. Romano
William C. Romano of Milford, CT (formerly of Westport, CT), passed away December 19, 2018, at the age of 73 after a brief illness. Devoted husband to his wife of 53 years, Ann (née Spero), best friend and brother of James Romano, (sister-in-law Sue), loving father to his three children Michael Romano of Westport, CT, Christopher Romano of San Francisco, CA, and Laura Romano of Milford, CT, and proud grandfather of John Romano, Tyler Romano, Hollie Cappiello, Makayla Romano, and Troy Cappiello. Bill was known for his generosity and kindness to all that crossed his path, his love of boating, fishing, and mostly for the joy he got spending time with his family. Bill was a member of the Saugatuck Volunteer Fire Dept. and worked for many years at Perkin Elmer before retiring from Greens Farms Elementary in 2012. Bill will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held January 19, 2018, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's on the Green in Norwalk, CT.

What a great character, Willy ! He did always make everyone feel welcome and like family... I appreciated him then and appreciate him all the more now as our family grows older and we lose the old glue that held it together. we are now counting on that next generation to carry on tradition of LaFamilia! Laura, you are the matriarch in trying and I do believe that you can and will carry the family through...thank you Laura for all you do to be the glue...

Dear Ann, Michael, Christopher and Laura, and Jimmy &Sue,

It's hard to express in words what you feel in your heart. I can't get it through my head that Billy has passed. I talked to him the day before he went in the hospital and that phone call was about his desire to come and help us with a stalled car. That was so who he was, always ready to help even though he, obvious to me now, was not feeling well.

If there is anything we can do now and in the future to help, please we're here for you.

With deepest sympathy.

Jeremiah 31:13 Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

Annie,

As you know, we were concerned to learn that Billy was so quickly stricken, and then so saddened when he was then taken from us.

He will be and is already missed by us for all the memories of his goodness and generosity and how he would always extend himself to be sure that we had all we needed to eat, drink and be happy while visiting with you all...

As a very young boy I was always excited to see him when he'd come to see you while you were still just dating. Bill would always bring me into the circle and make me feel like part of the in crowd, riding with him on his motorcycle, fishing off of the backside of Cockenoe Island until long after dark, or setting off fireworks at one of our many backyard cookouts!

The legacy of his love of family and friends will live on forever in our heads and hearts.

Joanne and I pray peace and calm for you and Michael, Christopher and Laura as well as Jimmy and Sue and the entire family.

God Bless you all.
