George E. Furman, 68, of Connellsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. He was born Sept. 26, 1952, in Connellsville, a son of the late James and Lillabea Mc- Millan Furman. George was a graduate of Connellsville High School and the Laurel Business Institute. He was formerly employed in the I.T. department for the Connellsville Area School District. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was member of the American Legion Post #762 and the VFW in Uniontown. He was also a member of the Connellsville Eagles and the Sons of Italy. He was a member of the Payne AME Church. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Haley Furman; children, Christopher Furman and his wife Amber of Barbersville W.Va., Kim Furman of Acme and Marcus Furman of Phoenix. Ariz.; grandchildren, Brooks Furman, Kayden Furman, Solderick Sherwood, Emma Ritenour, Mikhail Ritenour Furman and Bailey and Josie Graves. George was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Grogan. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Derrick Grogan officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. Military honors will be accorded by the members of the Trotter and Connellsville American Legion and Connellsville VFW Honor Guard.
