FARMINGTON -- Mrs. Bernice E. "Tooky" Rickus, 89, passed away December 12, 2015, in Farmington. Bernice was born on January 10, 1926, in Brownwood, Missouri, and was the daughter of Oscar Ural Barnhart and Mary Agnes 'Mason' Barnhart. Also preceding in death were: her husband, Robert Lewis Rickus, Sr., (1996); three sisters, Ruby Babb; Josephine Causey and Patricia Rickus; one brother, Jerome "Bud" Barnhart, and one grandson, Brandon Pratte.
Bernice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Farmington; St. Paul Lutheran Ladies Aide; Womens Club and LWML. She was a member of both the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered as a Pink Lady in the Gift Shop at Parkland Health Center for many years.
Survivors Include: three children, Sandra Sue (and Robert) Pratte, of O'Fallon, Missouri; Robert (and Noy) Rickus, Jr., of Farmington; Marilyn Beth (and Eric) Freeburg, of Farmington. Three grandchildren: Rhenda (and Jesse) Cortor; Jason (and Dawn) Pratte; Maridee (and Matt) Neilsen. Also, one great-grandson, Josh Moore.
Visitation Monday, 4-6 p.m. at Taylor Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., Farmington. Visitation resumes Tuesday 10:00 a.m. and funeral 11:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Chapel, with Rev. William Schroeder officiating. Interment follows at Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington. Memorials to: * American Lung Association and/or * St. Paul Lutheran School.
