Thomas Taylor Obituary

Thomas G. Taylor of West Chester Thomas G. Taylor, 77, of West Chester, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. A lifelong resident of West Chester, he was a graduate of West Chester High School and Temple University. He worked as a bookkeeper in local businesses, including Spaz Beverage Company. He found his true calling after retirement, when he became a part-time baseball scout, working first for the LA Dodgers, then the New York Mets, and recently the Cincinnati Reds. He was active with the West Chester Baseball League and was a member of its Hall of Fame. He was the son of T. Rodney Taylor and Catherine Turner Taylor Munshower. He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth J. Taylor of Medford, N.J. and Catherine T. Dwan of Waldwick, N.J., and by a niece and nephew. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at the Founds Funeral Home, Inc., 229 South High Street, West Chester, 610-696-0134, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Donations in his memory may be made to The Salvation Army, 101 East Market Street, West Chester, PA 19380, or a charity of the donor's choice. Enjoyed many nights of talking baseball and saw him not only at the adult league games but also at the fast pitch softball games. Went to Dem school with his sister.

I went to school with his sister Elizabeth but knew Tom through his great love of baseball. What a nice man and friend. He will be missed.
