Dorothea Kemp Obituary

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Graveside services for Dorothea Crouch Kemp, 85, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Magnolia Cemetery. The Revs. Ben and Dora Gafford will officiate directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home. Mrs. Kemp, widow of Henry Overton Kemp III, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005. Born in Darlington Co., S.C., she was a daughter of the late Manning C. Sr. and Tincie Yarborough Crouch. She was a member Grace United Methodist Church, Newport News, Va. She was a member of Newport News Warwick Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolutionary, the Bethel Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Woman's Club of Newport News. Surviving are her daughter, Yancey Wise of Charleston, S.C.; brother, Thornton W. Crouch of Hartsville, S.C.; grandsons and spouse, Timothy and Kristy Wise of Marietta, Ga., and David Wise of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Mason Wise, John Dewey Wise, Hannah Wise and Katlin Wise. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Manning Crouch Jr. and James Crouch. www.bpafuneralhome.com

My deepest sympathy to your family. Dorothea was in the Bethel Chapter, UDC with me. She was such a sweet person. I know that she will be missed by our chapter. We have really missed her at our meetings ever since she broke her hip. Deepest Sympathy.
