News Death Notice

DOUGLAS, Dorothy Marie 62, originally from Carlisle, OH and residing in Rotondo, FL passed away peacefully on January 7, 2013. Born April 3, 1951, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Adelia (Yount) and Raymond Call of Miamisburg, OH. She is survived by her husband Chuck, her son Robert M. White of Miamisburg and step-daughter Courtney Douglas of Kettering, OH . Left with many happy memories are her sisters: Patty (Taylor) Foster of Manchester KY, Suzy (Ed) Mowery of Miamisburg OH, and Tammy (Kirk) Hogg of Germantown OH. Dorothy was also a fun loving aunt to many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply. Dorothy retired in 1996 from LexisNexis in Miamisburg Ohio where she served on the Board of Administrative Assistants and working tirelessly on the annual United Way Campaigns. She continued her passion for service to others as a member of the Venice Florida, Chapter 758, Women of The Moose; and was invested as the Deputy Grand Regent for the State of Florida, the year 2011-2012. Dorothy was a Charter member of the Beta Sigma Chapter. She held the office of Chapter President and Chapter Secretary. While holding the office of Chapter Secretary, she earned The National Secretary Award. Dorothy also served as Florida State President. Dorothy was currently employed part-time by Weight Watchers International as a Leader/Service Provider and awarded the position of Territory Receptionist. Her friends at all these organizations, as well as all who knew her will miss her positive example of serving others and living life to the fullest. A Celebration of Life memorial event is being planned for friends and family in Ohio. Details will be distributed via email. I worked with Dorothy over 30 years ago and have so many fond memories of all the fun we had. I am sorry that I did not get to go to her "Celebration of Life" in Dayton as I was out of town. My deepest sympathies to Chuck, Rob, Patty, Tammy, Suzy and the rest of her family.
