News Death Notice
YANTIS, Gerald E. Age 69, of Tipp City, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008. He was born November 24, 1938 in Dayton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Frances (Weingart) Yantis. He is survived by his children, Jeryl Yantis, Theresa & her husband, Joseph Landers, Christopher Yantis, Theodore & his wife, Dawn Yantis and Patrick Yantis; grandchildren, Dustin, Ashley, Shelby, Jacob, Elizabeth, Amanda, Alexander, Josephine, Nicholas and Kayden; great grandchildren, Adrianna and Gracie; brothers, John (Geraldine) Yantis, George (Karen) Yantis, James Yantis, Donald (Barbara) Yantis; sister, Jean Johnson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Jerry worked hard all of his life in the Tool & Die Industry. He was co-founder of Artisan Grinding Service, Inc. in Dayton and Interflex Inc. in Troy. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Johns Catholic Church, 753 S. Hyatt St., Tipp City. To Jerry's family: You have my sympathy with Jerry's passing. Jerry was an employee of ours at Nation Grinding, before moving on to "higher ground". And now he has moved on to the "highest" of places.

Back in the high school days Gerry, John, Jean and I had some fun times together. The old gang around Riverside Dr. were a lot of fun, as well as the ones from Trotwood. Just sorry we have had no contact for years. May he rest in peace. May the grief pass quickly for those close to him.
