Patricia Blalock Obituary
Patricia Gay Blalock, known to all of her friends and family as Gay, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2017 in the presence of her loved ones in Pilot Point, TX. Gay is known to all to be a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a loyal friend. Patricia Gay Blalock was born on January 2, 1960 in El Paso, TX. She graduated from Denton High School in 1978 and proceeded to study at the North Texas State University in Business Computer Information Systems. While in high school, Gay met the love of her life, James Brian Blalock. The two were happily married on August 17, 1979 and had two beautiful children, Kacie Lauran Blalock and James Kyle Blalock. Although she worked with multiple companies using her knowledge and skill with computers, Gay's primary life pursuit was being a wife and a mother. She dedicated her time and heart to her family. To the sorrow of her loved ones, Gay became ill in July 2014 and proceeded to fight cancer for the next three years. She fought strongly with grace and dignity, always showing the same loving concern for her family. Gay's life will be honored with a visitation held at Denton Funeral Home on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service for Mrs. Patricia Gay Blalock will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Aubrey, TX. Gay will be laid to rest in Sanger Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to donate to The Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester, MN. Gay's life and love will live on through her loving husband, James Brian Blalock; her devoted children, Kacie Lauren Blalock and her spouse, Hadieh Maatouk, and James Kyle Blalock and his spouse, Lori Blalock; her grandchildren, Rami Blalock-Maatouk, Charlotte Rae Blalock, and James Beau Blalock; her sister, Beth Randall; and numerous family members and friends. Gay is preceded in death by her grandparents, Cecil and Dorothy Gardner. The family would like to thank everyone who has showed love and support to Gay throughout her life. I just came across this. I worked with Brian while I attended Denton High School and only met her a couple of times. I still have the graduation gift they gave me in 1984. A truly kind couple.

I was a classmate of Gay's at Newton Razor Elementary School and DHS Class of 1978. She was always so sweet. A beautiful child and later lady. My daughter and I bought vegetables from her family stand at Denton Farmers Market in the Texas heat. She was so gracious. I know she fought a brave fight with a rare cancer. She and her family sacrificed and she was treated at the Mayo Clinic. She and I spoke of this only two years ago. She loved her family deeply and was a very happy and proud grandmother.
