Charles Beard Obituary

Charles Stephen "Steve" Beard
August 5, 2023
Fort Worth, Texas - In loving memory of Charles Stephen Beard, affectionately known as Steve, who was born on December 23, 19..."younger than you" in Corpus Christi. Steve's incredible journey on this Earth came to a close on August 5, 2023, as he passed away at home.
Steve was the youngest of four brothers, born to Otis Byron Beard and Lyda Erin Clements. He grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and later made his mark in Odessa, Texas, where he met his beloved wife, Judy Dickman. Their love blossomed, resulting in the birth of a son and a daughter.
The pursuit of a bright future led Steve and his family to Fort Worth, where he established his own successful business. A man of faith, Steve dedicated his weekends to the church, passionately contributing to its betterment. His unwavering commitment led him to serve on the Board of Trustees, leaving a lasting impact.
Steve's vibrant spirit was defined by his diverse interests and hobbies. He was a force to be reckoned with in the world of Roller Hockey, earning accolades as one of the sport's top players. His musical talents were boundless, as he taught himself to play the drums, gracing several bands with his undeniable gift. He even embraced the excitement of the rattlesnake roundup in Texas, a testament to his daring spirit.
A lover of adventure, Steve reveled in river rafting until an unfortunate incident shifted his focus. His heart raced on the open road, where he cherished the freedom of cruising on his Harley. Yet, it was his audacious dirt-biking escapades on the precipice of Colorado's mountains that truly showcased his fearless nature. Beyond thrill-seeking, Steve had a soft spot for the tranquility of the beach, yearning to retire there someday. His passion for cooking ignited fierce competition on the BBQ circuit, where he claimed top honors.
Steve's quest for knowledge took him to obscure corners of the world, unearthing hidden history and exploring ghost towns. His fascination with the supernatural led him to investigate haunted places, spinning spine-tingling tales that captivated all who listened. His uncanny pool skills left opponents awestruck, and his quick wit and humor ensured that everyone felt at ease in his company. Steve's thoughtfulness shone through in personal gestures, as he delighted in crafting unique gifts for those he cherished.
In the realm of generosity, Steve's compassion knew no bounds and his heart was as big as his appetite. He championed animal rescue efforts, offering a safe haven to creatures in need and always kept pet food in his vehicle to feed the abandoned strays. He was also a lifeline for families in need, offering not just a helping hand, but also the joy of Christmas miracles. Even in challenging times, Steve cared for his mother with unwavering devotion.
With boundless love, Steve nurtured his children's dreams and guided them to success. His grandson, Hunter, held a special place in his heart, creating a bond that could not be broken. And then there was Bubba, the neighbor's dog, a loyal companion who brightened each day.
As we bid farewell to Steve, we remember those who preceded him in death: his parents, Otis and Lyda Beard; his wife, Judy Beard; and his brother, Bill Beard. Left to carry on his legacy are his son, Stephen Beard; daughter, Stephanie Beard; grandson, Hunter Beard; brothers: Mike Beard (and his wife, Sharon) and Pat Beard (and his wife, Linda) ; sister-in-law Donna Beard; extended family; and a multitude of dear friends.
Steve's indomitable spirit, zest for life, and unyielding generosity will forever resonate in our hearts. He has left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to have known him. He will truly be missed.
May your memory continue to inspire us all. May the Lord Bless and Keep you.
