Samuel Rosen Obituary

Rosen, Samuel
of Scottsdale, 86, passed away on July 15, 2010. Born in Czestochowa, Poland, Sam survived the Nazi Holocaust and moved to the United States with his wife, Esther, in 1950. Sam is internationally known for his numerous patents that include the airless spray gun that is used universally in a variety of industrial paint and adhesive spray applications. Samuel was an active member of his community and synagogue and was an exceptional visual artist. His multi-media Holocaust Memorial is displayed in Ohio, along with some of his other pieces. Sam's charitable contributions are significant including sponsoring a writing contest for children to remember the Holocaust and establishing a foundation to assist students traveling to Israel. In Samuel's later years, he often spoke to children at schools about his Holocaust experiences. Samuel is survived by his wife Esther, from Stolpse, Poland and his three children, Rosalyn (Lynn) Rosen, Elliot Rosen and his wife Tammy, and Victor Rosen and his wife Cori. Samuel is also survived by his grandchildren Chad Rosen and his wife Sarah, Ryan Rosen, Brooke Rosen, Alanna Rosen, Jennifer Rosen, Cody Rosen, Roman Wommack and great-granddaughter Adena Rosen. Sam suffered from Parkinson's Disease for ten years and died peacefully at home with his wife, Esther, at his side. Funeral services will be held at Sinai Mortuary, 4538 N. 16th St on Sunday July 18, 2010 at 10 am. Contributions can be made to the Michael J Fox Parkinson Foundation, the Hospice of the Valley or Temple Chai.
