Alma Jeneve Finley

FINLEY Alma Jeneve Finley, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. She was born in Laurelville, Ohio, on February 3, 1921, to the late Walter and Martha Chambers. She moved to the Columbus area where she met her husband of 57 years, Glenn Finley. The two lived in the same house for 45 years and were wonderful neighbors. They were active in the Westland Athletic Boosters, and they were members of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church. Alma was the community babysitter, and everyone knew her as grandma. She loved to play cards, and she loved to laugh. Alma will be remembered for her smile. She is survived by her children, Debra (Frank) Murphy, and Richard (Diana) Finley; grandchildren, Jason, Patrick and Jarrod Finley; great-grandchildren, Sara, Erin and Kristin; siblings, Walter Chambers and Phyllis Hinton; many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Ruth Schwaigert. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, children Patricia Karr and Ed Finley, and grandson Ryan Finley. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W.
