John Weeden Obituary

NEW ALBANY – John William Weeden, 68, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Baptist Hospital in Oxford. He was born February 7, 1947, in Union County to Charlie C. Weeden and Lenora Browning Weeden. He was a retired factory worker.
Funeral Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016, at United Funeral Service with Dr. Terry Cutrer and Tim McMillen officiating. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wooten Weeden; one daughter, Sherra McElroy (Bryan) of New Albany; one son, John Weeden Jr. (Gina) of Etta; five sisters, Dollie Cook (Luther), Faye McDaniel, Betty Ruth Hogue (Roger), Ruby Jean Smith (Dean), all of New Albany and Rose Hamblin (Jimmy) of Ecru; two brothers, Billy Charles Weeden (Lenda) and James Carol Weeden (Wilma), both of New Albany; two grandchildren, Hannah McElroy and Bryan McElroy II.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce Mayo.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitation will be today, January 23, 2016, from 5 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
