Robert Terry Welborn, 71, a resident of Slocomb succumbed to his long battle with Lewy Body Dementia at his home, surrounded by his family on April 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at New Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Newton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Terry was retired from the automotive industry working collectively at Ray Hughes Chevrolet, Williams Pontiac Cadillac, Solomon Chevrolet and Evans Automotive. He was preceded in death by his parents, G.D. and Robbie Welborn of Harrisville, MS; an aunt, Eltrym Avery of Slocomb, AL; nephews, Donnie Sims and Jay Atkins; a sister-in-law, Melissa Welborn of Harrisville, MS. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Winona Welborn of Slocomb, AL; daughter, Kim Welborn of Slocomb, AL; sons, Duane (Kathy) Welborn of Slocomb, AL and Blake (Penni) Welborn of Lynn Haven, FL; brother, Greg Welborn of Harrisville, MS; sister, Sheila (Phil) Atkins of Richland, MS; grandchildren, Devan (Josh) Hale of Lafayette, AL, Victoria Welborn of Slocomb, AL, Morgan Welborn of Panama City, FL, Amber Welborn, Reagan Welborn, and Aaron Welborn, Jr. of Lynn Haven, FL; great-granddaughters, Addie Welborn of Lafayette, AL and Charlie Dean Welborn of Slocomb, AL. Terry loved his God, his family, his books, and his coffee. He would tell us today, "Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free; I'm following paths God made for me."
