After battling cancer, Linda Muir passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at her daughter's home in Concord, CA. She is survived by her sister Rose Alling and her brother Phil Luna Jr.; her children Jennifer, Richard, Charles, and Derek; her grandchildren Brittany, Breanna, Ryann, Derek, Madeline, and Landon; and her great grandchildren Alexander Valarde and Richard Muir. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Phil Luna Sr. and Romala Luna as well as her beloved brother, Fred Luna.
Linda was born in Albany, CA. Her family moved to Oakley, CA prior to permanently moving to Antioch, CA. She was married to Richard Muir in September 11, 1960, and they had three children together. They divorced 1978. Linda had Derek Christopher Muir with her significant other, Larry Pofahl. Linda was a dedicated daughter, caring for her ailing parents until their passing. Linda also enjoyed caring for children whether it was her grandchildren, nephews, or friend's kids, she loved taking care of them and spoiling them. She loved working for the high school district's food services where she often gave her own money to help pay for kid's lunches. She made life-long friends working at the district. Her friends remained by her side to the very end. She was well loved. She enjoyed this most recent Thanksgiving with her family painting rocks, laughing, and being thankful for her family.
A Celebration of Life for Linda will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 12pm at the Antioch Community Center – Community Hall 4703 Lone Tree Way, Antioch, CA 94531. Following the service, a luncheon will be held in mom's honor and to celebrate her birthday. Please join us! Please note attendants will be screened prior to entry. We will be asking for a full vaccination card with photo ID OR a negative COVID test that was administered no earlier than 3 days before the event date. This only applies to guests 12 and up.
