Eleanor Smith Obituary

Eleanor Adele Smith, 89, formerly of Bethlehem, Pa, died on Thursday, October 2, 2008 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa, where she was an organ donor. Born: On September 30, 1919 in Easton, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine Pierog Fiedler. Personal: Her husband, Dr. James F. Smith, Sr., died in 2001. Memberships: She was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church, Wyalusing, Pa. Survivors: She is survived by a son, James F. Smith and his fiancée, Dolores Sharer of Wyalusing, Pa; a daughter, Judith M. Smith of Allentown, Pa; five grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Avenue, Easton. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Streets, Easton. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
