E.M. Clayton Obituary

CLAYTON, E. M. "Bud" of Bonita Springs, Florida. E. M. "Bud" Clayton 85, of Clio, MI and a winter resident of Bonita Springs, FL died December 22, 2011 at his residence in Bonita Springs. He was born March 26, 1926 in Jefferson County, AL a son of the late Allen L. and Judie Ludie Hanna (nee Johnson) Clayton. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. Bud was the former owner of Mercury Dry Wall Company in Flint, MI and also the owner of the Merle Norman Cosmetics stores in both Flint and Saginaw. He was an avid boater and a member of the Black River Boat Club in Port Huron, MI. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Eagles. He is survived by his two daughters, Shelia P. (James) Coughlin of Bonita Springs, FL and Carmen D. Venetsky of Flint, MI; three sisters, Kathryn (John) Walthall of Gardendale, AL; Margaret (Junior) Hughes of Gardendale, AL and Vazelle (Norman) Crawford of Mt. Olive, AL; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Noreda Clayton in 1996; sister, Willene Smith and brother-in-law, Bill Smith. Funeral services for Mr. Clayton will be held in the spring with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio, MI. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home Bonita Springs, FL (239) 992-4982.

All of the nieces and nephews loved Uncle Bud dearly. He was a great man. A part of us is now empty with his passing and our hearts are breaking. He is now in a better place and is healthy and whole again. Love You for Ever Uncle Bud !!!!

Bud was a wonderful fun loving man. He always had a way of lighting up a room and making everyone laugh. He brought a lot of joy to everyone he knew. We all loved him and will miss him more than words can say. Bud you will be forever in our hearts.

My Grandpa was a great loving man! He lived a good life and had many friends in MI and Florida! I will miss him so much, he is now with other family members who have passed on to a better place. I miss you pack in paw!
