E.M. "Bud" Clayton

CLAYTON, E. M. "Bud" of Bonita Springs, Florida. E. M. "Bud" Clayton 85, of Clio, MI and a winter resident of Bonita Springs, FL died December 22, 2011 at his residence in Bonita Springs. He was born March 26, 1926 in Jefferson County, AL a son of the late Allen L. and Judie Ludie Hanna (nee Johnson) Clayton. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. Bud was the former owner of Mercury Dry Wall Company in Flint, MI and also the owner of the Merle Norman Cosmetics stores in both Flint and Saginaw. He was an avid boater and a member of the Black River Boat Club in Port Huron, MI. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Eagles. He is survived by his two daughters, Shelia P. (James) Coughlin of Bonita Springs, FL and Carmen D. Venetsky of Flint, MI; three sisters, Kathryn (John) Walthall of Gardendale, AL; Margaret (Junior) Hughes of Gardendale, AL and Vazelle (Norman) Crawford of Mt. Olive, AL; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Noreda Clayton in 1996; sister, Willene Smith and brother-in-law, Bill Smith. Funeral services for Mr. Clayton will be held in the spring with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio, MI.
