Fred Green Obituary

FRED J. GREEN MELBOURNE Fred J. Green, 75, of Mel bourne, passed away on Tues day, May 8, 2007 after a year long battle with cancer. He was born in Clover, SC, the youn gest of six children. Orphaned at the young age of five, he was raised by his aunt in Lynn Camp, KY, where he lived near a golf course. He developed a love for the game that lasted his entire life. Fred enlisted in the Air Force in 1951, served four years and immediately began employment with the Air Force as a civilian. He moved to the Melbourne area in 1979, upon obtaining a position as Chief of Repro graphics at PAFB, and stayed until his retirement in 1987. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Sylvia, sons Randy (Valerie) Green of Palm Bay, and Rich (Lisa) Green of W. Melbourne; five grandchil dren, three great -grandchildren, and his golf partner of 28 years, Ed Knox of Melbourne. He was preceded in death by his daugh ter and son-in- law, Gail and Jim ONeal of Palm Bay. Next to his family, he loved the game of golf with his bud dies, Ed, Dan Duncan, Jim Kennedy and Tim Nolan. Fred thoroughly enjoyed the camara derie and friendly competition, and he was also a member of the Mens Golf League at the Melbourne course. In lieu of flowers, please con sider a donation to Hospice of Health First. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2007 at Florida Memorial Funer al Home with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens. Arrange ments by Florida Memorial.

Sylvia, Rich, Randy, and family. I can never express how much the friendship of your dad,
and your entire family has meant to me throughout the years. i am truly grieving with you all. Fred to me was , and always will be a shining example of what a good man should be.
