ROBERT EAMES Obituary

ROBERT E. EAMES, 85, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Syracuse. Born May 17, 1931 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Marvin and Ethel Belle (Richey) Eames. A Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army, he wed Mary Lou Beers on Dec. 24, 1953 in Burr Oak. Employed for 31 years at Blue Bell in Columbia City, and was a hog and grain farmer. Survivors include wife of 63 years, Mary Eames; sons, Kenneth (Sue) Eames, Dennis Eames, and Daniel (Erica) Eames; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, James Eames on August of 2013; and sister, Evelyn Wells. Graveside funeral service with military honors is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Sparta Cemetery near Kimmell. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Memorial donations may be made to the West Noble American Legion Post 243, Ligonier.
